Global Research Group of Institutions (GRGI) organized an expert talk on Menstrual Hygiene at the Global Research Institute of Pharmacy to promote awareness and encourage healthy menstrual practices among girl students.
The session was delivered by Ms. Tavleen Kaur, Assistant Professor, who explained the menstrual cycle in detail, including its phases, and addressed common myths and misconceptions related to menstruation. She highlighted essential do’s and don’ts, discussed common health issues such as infections and Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), and shared simple exercises and yoga practices to help reduce menstrual discomfort.
Special emphasis was laid on the safe and hygienic disposal of sanitary napkins, highlighting the importance of incineration in preventing health hazards and protecting the environment. Real-life examples, especially from rural areas, were shared to promote responsible menstrual hygiene management.
The session was interactive and informative, and it was highly appreciated by the students. It played a significant role in enhancing awareness, confidence, and empowerment regarding menstrual health.
